iOS16.4 has been released and here are a few of the features it brings along

Apple has released iOS16.4 and my poll on Twitter received a good number of traction indicating that many people have been waiting for this update. iOS16.4 brings in minor changes to features bringing in a whole bunch of new emojis. These emojis include a moose, goose, a pink heart among many others. I always use a lot of emojis while texting (even official emails 😉) and new emojis are always exciting.

Other updates include pushing notifications from Safari web apps to the Homescreen. This can be useful to put web apps to better use. It also includes updates like including voice isolation for voice calls and minor optimizations in crash detection in iPhone 14 and higher.

Here's another feature that I would have loved years ago but better late than never - duplicates in Photos app is now expanded to detect duplicate photos and videos in an iCloud shared library. Other updates include voice-over for Maps in the Weather app, optimized (automatic) brightness under Accessibility when there are flashes in a video.

You can download the update on you iPhone 8 or higher devices by going to Settings > General > Software update.
